R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Natalie Stephenson retired as the outdoor education
  manager for the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains on October 31,
  2018, drawing to a close a long and fulfilling career with the Girl
  Scouts that spanned 44 years; and
         WHEREAS, A Pampa native, Ms. Stephenson began her
  involvement in scouting in the second grade and has been a stalwart
  supporter of the organization ever since; she joined the staff of
  the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains after moving to Amarillo
  with her husband in 1974 and was elevated to the position of outdoor
  education manager six years later; in that role, she planned
  outdoor programs for the 82 counties GSTOP covers, as well as for
  the group's Texas camps, and she supervised a full-time staff at
  GSTOP's headquarters in Fort Worth; she also served as the resident
  director of Camp Kiwanis in Amarillo, which welcomes an average of
  500 scouts each summer; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her affiliation with the Girl Scouts,
  Ms. Stephenson embraced the opportunity to mentor and nurture the
  talents of its members; her work involved organizing outdoor
  adventures such as horseback riding and swimming, and she enjoyed
  watching campers overcome their fears and push themselves to
  greater heights while forming friendships and making lasting
  memories; and
         WHEREAS, Through her dedication, skill, and undeniable
  passion for the Girl Scouts organization, Natalie Stephenson has
  helped make scouting a more rewarding and enriching experience for
  countless young women, and she may reflect with great pride on all
  that she has accomplished as she embarks on the next exciting
  chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Natalie Stephenson on her
  retirement from the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Stephenson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
