WHEREAS, School boards play a crucial role in meeting the | ||
diverse educational needs of the children in their districts, and | ||
Dorothy Martinez is indeed deserving of recognition for her service | ||
as vice president of the Denton Independent School District; and | ||
WHEREAS, The mission of public schools throughout the state | ||
and nation is to empower children to become productive contributors | ||
to society in an ever-changing world; to that end, Ms. Martinez | ||
works closely with other school board members, as well as with | ||
parents, teachers, and community leaders, to set policies that | ||
promote a learning environment in which all students have a chance | ||
to thrive; and | ||
WHEREAS, This notable Texan has demonstrated a truly | ||
exemplary commitment to area students and brings a set of skills and | ||
a range of experience that contribute immeasurably to the | ||
successful operation of Denton ISD; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Dorothy Martinez | ||
for her service as a member of the Denton Independent School | ||
District Board of Trustees and extend to her sincere appreciation | ||
for her outstanding service to the community; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
