R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Ramiro Robles of El Paso on December 9, 2018, at the age
  of 85; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Jose Robles and Dolores Gonzalez Robles,
  Ramiro Robles was born on January 7, 1933, and grew up with three
  brothers, Carlos, Jose, and Eduardo, and a sister, Bertha; he
  attended Bowie High School in El Paso and went on to join the U.S.
  Air Force, serving his country during the Korean War; after leaving
  the military, he embarked on a successful career as a civilian
  employee with the transportation department at Fort Bliss; and
         WHEREAS, Valuing family above all else, Mr. Robles shared 64
  years of marriage with his wife, Belen Borrego Robles, and he took
  great pride in his children, Mary Helen, Carlos Francisco, and
  Ramiro; with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his
  family grow to include 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren;
  and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed civic leader was a longtime member of
  the League of United Latin American Citizens, serving as national
  vice president for the Southwest for two terms and helping LULAC
  Councils No. 132 and No. 298 with educational and youth programs; a
  sports enthusiast, he loved following the New York Yankees and
  Dallas Cowboys, and he enjoyed traveling and playing golf; and
         WHEREAS, Although Ramiro Robles is greatly missed, he has
  left his family and friends with many cherished memories, and he
  will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ramiro Robles and
  extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ramiro
  Robles.
