R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Eighth Court of Appeals in El Paso County
  recently welcomed its third female justice, and an all-women panel
  now presides over the court for the first time since the court's
  establishment more than a century ago; and
         WHEREAS, On January 14, 2013, Justice Yvonne T. Rodriguez
  joined Chief Justice Ann Crawford McClure and Justice Guadalupe
  Rivera on the bench of the Eighth Court of Appeals; two years
  earlier, Chief Justice McClure also made history as the first woman
  ever appointed to lead that court; and
         WHEREAS, One of 14 courts of appeals in Texas, the Eighth
  Court of Appeals has appellate jurisdiction in civil and criminal
  cases that originate in the district and county courts of 17 West
  Texas counties; and
         WHEREAS, The achievements of Chief Justice Ann Crawford
  McClure, Justice Guadalupe Rivera, and Justice Yvonne Rodriguez
  serve as a source of inspiration for this and future generations of
  Texans alike; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the first all-women panel to preside
  over the Eighth Court of Appeals and extend to the members of that
  court sincere best wishes for continued success.
