R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Richard Lynn Ingrim, an esteemed member of the
  Grand Saline community and a friend to many, passed away on November
  22, 2020, at the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Clarence Houston and Eileen Leona Knowles
  Ingrim, Rick Ingrim was born in Wichita, Kansas, on April 8, 1943,
  and he grew up with the companionship of three siblings, Jim,
  Dennis, and Judy; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined the
  U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he served as a Green Beret
  paratrooper and a medic for the 5th Special Forces Group and was
  awarded the Bronze Star; and
         WHEREAS, Upon returning to civilian life, he pursued a career
  in medicine, attending medical schools in Texas and Mexico before
  completing his residency in family medicine at the University of
  Oklahoma in 1984; he subsequently moved back to Texas to open a
  private practice in Grand Saline, Family Medicine Clinic, and he
  went on to establish Country Trails Care Center in 1988;
  additionally, he served for many years as medical director for
  Cozby-Germany Hospital and for the Grand Saline Fire
  Department/EMS; he retired from his office practice in 2018 but
  continued working in hospice care; and
         WHEREAS, An Eagle Scout and a lifelong supporter of the Boy
  Scouts, Dr. Ingrim gave generously of his time and talents to Troop
  No. 374, serving as scoutmaster and guiding many scouts in
  attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; he was sustained by an abiding
  faith and was a valued congregant of First United Methodist Church,
  where he attended the Pairs and Spares Sunday school class; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Ingrim benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, Diane, with whom he shared a rewarding
  union that spanned five decades; he took great pride in his three
  children, Ryan, Holly, and Zack, and he delighted in time spent with
  his three grandchildren, Ellie, Asher, and Brooks; in his leisure
  hours, he enjoyed gardening and putting his tractor to use; and
         WHEREAS, While the death of Rick Ingrim brings immeasurable
  sorrow to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that
  will long be treasured by all those who hold him dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dr. Richard Lynn
  Ingrim and extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
  Dr. Richard Ingrim.
