R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Cody Hayes of Fort Worth won the silver medal in shot
  put at the 2013 UIL state track and field championships in Austin,
  and he is deserving of special recognition for his outstanding
  performance; and
         WHEREAS, A senior at Eastern Hills High School, Mr. Hayes is
  the first Eastern Hills High School student to compete at the state
  level since 2009; and
         WHEREAS, This talented teen has signed with Texas Tech
  University to play football where he will undoubtedly represent
  Eastern Hills High School with dignity and class as he pursues
  additional medals; and
         WHEREAS, Medaling at a state championship is the goal of all
  student-athletes, and Mr. Hayes may take great pride in his silver
  medal for years to come, drawing inspiration from his
  accomplishments at Eastern Hills as he undertakes future
  challenges; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Cody Hayes for his impressive
  performance at the 2013 UIL state track and field championships and
  extend best wishes to him for continued success in all his
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Hayes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
