R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jerry VanNatta has been named Firefighter of the
  Year by the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department, and this
  achievement indeed merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Mineral Wells and a veteran of the
  Vietnam War, Mr. VanNatta joined the Mineral Wells VFD in April
  1973, and over the past four decades, he has served the department
  with great distinction; and
         WHEREAS, From 1985 to 1995, Mr. VanNatta was the volunteer
  fire chief, and from 1989 to 1995, he was the first city fire chief;
  he currently serves as the department's second assistant chief; in
  all endeavors, he enjoys the love and respect of his wife of 19
  years, Ronda; and
         WHEREAS, For more than 40 years, Jerry VanNatta has been a
  leader in his department and an inspiration to his fellow
  firefighters, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his receipt of
  this special recognition from his peers; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jerry VanNatta for being named
  Firefighter of the Year by the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire
  Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success in his important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. VanNatta as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
