WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Carolyn | ||
Yvonne Rogers Jones of Dallas, who passed away on January 25, 2017, | ||
at the age of 72; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born to Ellis and Tessie Rogers on November 9, 1944, | ||
the former Carolyn Rogers grew up in Abilene with her two brothers, | ||
Danny and Bill; after graduating from Woodson High School in 1963, | ||
she continued her education at Bishop College and went on to pursue | ||
a successful career with the Stewart Title Guaranty Company; and | ||
WHEREAS, In 1967, she met the love of her life, Thomas Jones, | ||
whom she wed on July 26, 1968; over the course of a rewarding | ||
marriage that spanned nearly half a century, the couple were | ||
blessed with four children, Shaundra, Regina, Shelley, and Kelley, | ||
and a grandson, Jay Logan Thomas; and | ||
WHEREAS, Sustained by a deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Jones | ||
was a valued congregant at St. Luke Community United Methodist | ||
Church; and | ||
WHEREAS, Carolyn Jones enjoyed a life that was rich in the | ||
intangibles that matter most, and she will forever be a source of | ||
inspiration to all those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Carolyn Yvonne | ||
Rogers Jones and extend sincere condolences to the members of her | ||
family and to her many friends; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Carolyn | ||
Jones. |
