R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Marie Hendricks Payne of Lake Jackson is reaching a
  special milestone on June 17, 2013, when she marks her 100th
  birthday; and
         WHEREAS, Born a century ago to Jesse Banks and Mary Ida
  Hendricks, the former Marie Hendricks grew up on a farm in Oklahoma;
  on July 18, 1931, at the age of 18, she married Clifford Payne; the
  couple shared more than six decades together and were blessed with a
  daughter, Mary Helen; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Payne has dedicated herself to her home and to
  her family, which today includes two grandchildren, Gail and Donna;
  a resident of the Lake Jackson community for 70 years, she is known
  for her strong faith and is a valued member of First Baptist Church
  of Clute; and
         WHEREAS, Marie Payne is a source of tremendous inspiration,
  and in sharing the experience gained through a century of life well
  lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom that benefits all who
  are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Marie
  Hendricks Payne on the joyous occasion of her 100th birthday and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Payne as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
