R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Celia Reilly Saenz has greatly benefited the City of
  Roma through her civic endeavors, and it is indeed fitting to
  recognize her distinguished service; and
         WHEREAS, Celia Reilly Saenz was born in Roma, Texas, on March
  29, 1929, graduated from Rio Grande City High School, attended
  Southwest Texas State University, and received her bachelor's
  degree from Pan American University; she continued her education at
  Texas A&I University, where she received her master's degree, and
  at The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her library
  certification; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan began her teaching career in 1947
  in Salineno in Starr County, where she would loyally serve her
  community for nearly 40 years, educating the children of Roma
  Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, Celia Saenz is a devout member of Our Lady of Refuge
  Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and
  Confraternity of the Holy Rosary of Our Lady of Refuge Church;
  moreover, she is an honored member of the Roma-Rio Grande City
  Chapter of the Pan American Round Table, a trusted member of the
  Roma ISD School Board of Trustees for 14 years, and a life member of
  the Texas Retired Teachers Association; and
         WHEREAS, Celia strives to enhance the lives of Roma's youth
  by inspiring them to further explore all academic interests they
  may have and encouraging them to actively take part in their
  community; she was a caring wife of Roel A. Saenz for more than 50
  years before his passing in October 2002; furthermore, Celia is a
  loving mother to her three sons, Enrique, Roel Jr., and Jamie; and
  her five grandchildren, Omar, Danielle Alexis, Victoria Ashley,
  Aaron, and Taylor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Celia Reilly Saenz
  for her outstanding service to the City of Roma and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Saenz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
