WHEREAS, The Buna High School girls' golf team distinguished | ||
itself by winning the 23-3A championship at the district tournament | ||
held on April 6, 2015, at the Chambers County Golf Course in | ||
Anahuac; and | ||
WHEREAS, Guided by head coach Ronnie Loftin, the Lady Cougars | ||
bested formidable competition to record a combined score of 432 and | ||
advance to the regional tournament; and | ||
WHEREAS, The team was paced by senior Lauren Hale, who shot a | ||
98 for a silver-medal finish, and junior Abbie Crawford, who | ||
tallied 102 to earn bronze; they were followed by senior Shae | ||
Whipps, who scored 108, senior Haley Forse, who posted 124, and | ||
junior Courtney Smith at 133; and | ||
WHEREAS, The hard work and determination of these talented | ||
student-athletes have been justly rewarded with a district crown, | ||
and they may indeed reflect with pride on their notable | ||
accomplishment; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate the Buna High School girls' golf | ||
team on winning the District 23-3A championship and extend to the | ||
members of the squad sincere best wishes for continued success; | ||
and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. |
