R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Residents of Atlanta, Texas, were deeply saddened by
  the untimely death of Mayor Keith Crow, who passed away on July 22,
  2017, at the age of 61; and
         WHEREAS, The son of J. W. Crow and Emily Crow, Keith Crow was
  born in Atlanta on January 4, 1956, and grew up with a brother,
  Johnny, and a sister, Elaine; he attended Atlanta High School and
  went on to graduate from East Texas State University; becoming a
  valued member of the business community, he established Keith Crow
  Realty; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Crow was first elected mayor in 2006, and he was
  long dedicated to civic life; for nearly four decades, he was a
  member of the Lions Club, and he furthered the group's charitable
  endeavors in numerous ways, selling raffle tickets, organizing
  concessions at sports events and the Forest Festival, and donating
  to worthy causes; he served as president, song leader, and "tail
  twister," and he was always quick to make new and returning members
  feel welcome, offering his ever-present smile and a hearty
  handshake; in addition, he gave generously in support of local
  students and athletes who excelled and he served on the boards and
  steering committees of many organizations; he was active in the
  Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce, which named him Man of the Year in
  1985; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Crow took great pride in
  his son, Blake, and his daughter, Lauren; he was loyal to his
  siblings and treated his nieces, his nephews, and their children
  like grandchildren of his own; a valued member of First Baptist
  Church, he lent his beautiful voice to the First Praise Adult Choir
  and Boundless Love Quartet, and countless people were inspired by
  the profound faith he expressed through song; and
         WHEREAS, Keith Crow made a lasting, positive difference in
  his community, and those who were privileged to know him will
  forever remember the joy he brought into their lives with his
  kindness, warmth, and wonderful sense of humor; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Keith Crow and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his
  passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Keith Crow.
