WHEREAS, Ke'Mauri Pinkard of Tascosa High School in Amarillo | ||
achieved great distinction by winning the silver medal in the 5A | ||
triple jump at the 2023 University Interscholastic League Track & | ||
Field State Meet; and | ||
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in | ||
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Mr. Pinkard | ||
turned in a notable performance in the triple jump; finding himself | ||
in fifth place with only two tries remaining, he soared 48 feet, | ||
10.5 inches, on his next-to-last attempt to clinch second place; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, A senior at Tascosa High, Mr. Pinkard also competed | ||
in the 5A long jump at the state meet, finishing fifth with a leap of | ||
22 feet, 3.75 inches; and | ||
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
high school track and field athletes, Ke'Mauri Pinkard has ably | ||
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his | ||
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Ke'Mauri Pinkard on his | ||
silver-medal finish in the 5A triple jump at the 2023 UIL Track & | ||
Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Pinkard as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
