| WHEREAS, Corporal Brian Hoskins was named the 2013 Police | ||
| Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Angleton, and he is | ||
| being honored at a special event held on May 28, 2013, at Angleton | ||
| City Hall; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Hired as a patrol officer in 2004, Corporal Hoskins | ||
| worked in the patrol division until 2009 when he joined the | ||
| investigation division and trained with the Brazoria County | ||
| Narcotics Task Force; he became a full-time member of the task force | ||
| in 2011, serving with personnel from other city and county offices | ||
| as well as from the Department of Public Safety, the Drug | ||
| Enforcement Administration, and Homeland Security; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Corporal Hoskins has been involved in a number of | ||
| cases and arrests related to gambling, money laundering, illegal | ||
| investments, and drug production, and his successful | ||
| investigations have resulted in major disruptions of the drug trade | ||
| in the region; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Members of the law enforcement profession willingly | ||
| place themselves in harm's way each day to safeguard the lives and | ||
| property of the citizens of this state, and through his hard work | ||
| and dedication, Corporal Hoskins has proven himself most worthy of | ||
| special recognition and commendation; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Corporal Brian Hoskins on his | ||
| selection as the Exchange Club of Angleton 2013 Police Officer of | ||
| the Year and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Corporal Hoskins as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
