WHEREAS, The Canton chapter of the FFA celebrated the 75th | ||
anniversary of its founding on November 1, 2010; and | ||
WHEREAS, Chartered on that day in 1935 as the 249th chapter in | ||
the Texas FFA Association, the Canton FFA has since helped | ||
countless students graduate from high school prepared to become | ||
productive citizens; the FFA develops students' skills and | ||
leadership potential through agricultural education, while | ||
encouraging wise management of economic, environmental, and human | ||
resources in the community; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Canton FFA marked its 75th anniversary in a | ||
memorable way with a presentation from chapter president Cheyenne | ||
Pool, a live radio broadcast, and other festivities, including a | ||
visit by members of the Texas FFA Travel Team who spoke to | ||
agriculture science students at the school about the importance of | ||
having a positive attitude; and | ||
WHEREAS, The Canton FFA has been promoting interpersonal | ||
skills and healthy lifestyles while contributing to the educational | ||
development of Canton youth for three-quarters of a century, and | ||
this significant milestone is indeed worthy of special recognition; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Canton | ||
FFA and extend to all those associated with the chapter sincere best | ||
wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the Canton FFA as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. |
