R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of James Morgan McGraw of Jasper, who passed away on April 20, 2013,
  at the age of 89; and
         WHEREAS, "Slugger" McGraw was born in Newton in 1924 to
  Joseph Wiley and Mae Hext McGraw; he served his country in the
  United States Navy during World War II, stationed aboard the USS
  Enterprise in the Pacific; this brave Texan lost his leg in the war
  and was honored with the Purple Heart for his sacrifice; and
         WHEREAS, After the war, Mr. McGraw earned a master's degree
  from Stephen F. Austin State University and ran FFA programs in
  Texas public schools for more than three and a half decades; he also
  experienced the joy of becoming a parent, grandparent, and
  great-grandparent; and
         WHEREAS, Cherished by many, Mr. McGraw will be forever
  remembered with deep affection by all who were privileged to share
  in his love and friendship; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James Morgan McGraw
  and extend sincere sympathy to Melody Holton, Paula Moon, and Anna
  Pipher; to his seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren;
  and to all others who mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James
  Morgan McGraw.
