| WHEREAS, Arianna Douglas has been named salutatorian of the | ||
| Class of 2019 at Veterans Memorial Early College High School in | ||
| Brownsville, and she indeed merits special recognition for | ||
| receiving this significant honor; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only | ||
| intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
| highest academic standards; in securing her place as one of the two | ||
| top ranking students in her class, Ms. Douglas demonstrated a | ||
| thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her | ||
| attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement | ||
| of a notable high school career; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being | ||
| recognized for her hard work, Ms. Douglas has gained the | ||
| opportunity to address her fellow seniors at commencement and to | ||
| reflect on their shared history as well as their hopes and | ||
| ambitions; and | ||
| WHEREAS, During her years at Veterans Memorial Early College | ||
| High School, Arianna Douglas has earned the respect and admiration | ||
| of both her teachers and classmates, and her exceptional scholastic | ||
| ability and commitment to excellence have opened the way to a bright | ||
| and promising future for this outstanding young Texan; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Arianna Douglas on graduating as | ||
| salutatorian of the Veterans Memorial Early College High School | ||
| Class of 2019 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| success as she begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Douglas as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
