WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories | ||
of Herschel Harold Hall of Cotulla, who passed away on June 27, | ||
2020, at the age of 87; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born in Harrison Township, Missouri, on May 28, | ||
1933, Herschel Hall was the son of Ray and Thelma Hall, and he grew | ||
up with the companionship of two brothers, Leon and Ray; he moved to | ||
Texas with his family and attended school in Alice and Kerrville; | ||
following his graduation from William Adams High School in Alice, | ||
he answered his nation's call to duty and served in the United | ||
States Army, and he was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base in | ||
Alaska; and | ||
WHEREAS, Returning to civilian life, Mr. Hall began working | ||
as a heavy equipment operator in a Texas oilfield; he later spent | ||
many years working for Tommy Martin and became a dear friend to the | ||
Martin family; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Hall was joined in matrimony to the former Rose | ||
Marie Malott in 1978, and the couple made their home in Texas and | ||
Florida; a valued congregant of the First United Methodist Church | ||
in Cotulla, he dedicated his later years to serving his | ||
congregation; he was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing and | ||
painting throughout his life, and he always looked forward to | ||
playing dominoes with his friends; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man who delighted in the simple pleasures, | ||
Herschel Hall treasured the richness that each day brought, and he | ||
will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Herschel Harold Hall | ||
and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be | ||
it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Herschel | ||
Hall. |
