| WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has distinguished herself in her | ||
| responsibilities as committee director for the House Committee on | ||
| Corrections and its chair, State Representative Abel Herrero, | ||
| during the 88th Legislative Session; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Williams has provided | ||
| vital assistance in handling a wide variety of responsibilities in | ||
| support of Representative Herrero in his role as chair of the | ||
| Corrections Committee; she helped organize committee proceedings, | ||
| authored reports for bills voted out of the committee, and met with | ||
| constituents, advocates, and special-interest groups to discuss | ||
| topics relating to criminal justice, prison administration, and | ||
| parole and community supervision; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Williams graduated from Bucknell University in | ||
| 2022 with an economics degree; while enrolled, she served as a | ||
| teaching assistant in the school's economics department and as an | ||
| intern in its office of communications; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has performed her duties as | ||
| committee director with skill and dedication, and she is indeed | ||
| deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commend Miranda Williams for her service as | ||
| committee director for the House Committee on Corrections and its | ||
| chair, State Representative Abel Herrero, and extend to her sincere | ||
| best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
