R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, April 17, 2022, marks the celebration of Easter,
  which is considered the most holy day of the year in the Christian
  faith; and
         WHEREAS, Known also as Resurrection Day, Easter is a time
  when people around the globe recognize the day that Jesus Christ of
  Nazareth rose from the grave and reflect with joy on the gospel's
  enduring message of rebirth; and
         WHEREAS, In the weeks before the sacred event, many
  Christians observe a 40-day period of fasting and prayer, known as
  Lent; Holy Week then commemorates Christ's final days on earth and
  crucifixion by Roman authorities, remembered solemnly on Good
  Friday and followed by Easter Sunday; and
         WHEREAS, Many families and loved ones gather together during
  this special time to worship and to express gratitude for the
  miracle of Christ's ascension; the festivities symbolize new life
  and hope for the future, themes that parallel spring, the season in
  which the holiday falls; and
         WHEREAS, Observed for more than 2,000 years, the Easter
  holiday ushers in a period of joy and renewal, signifying one of the
  fundamental pillars of faith for the Christian community, the
  resurrection of Christ; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate Easter 2022.
