| WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has distinguished herself in her | ||
| responsibilities as a legislative assistant in the office of State | ||
| Representative R. D. "Bobby" Guerra during the 88th Legislative | ||
| Session; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Urcuyo has provided | ||
| vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, | ||
| including policy research, bill tracking, and communication with | ||
| stakeholders; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the | ||
| field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative | ||
| process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Urcuyo was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and she | ||
| moved with her family to McAllen when she was seven years old; a | ||
| graduate of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, she holds a | ||
| bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in women's and | ||
| gender studies; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has performed her duties as a | ||
| legislative assistant with skill and dedication, and she is indeed | ||
| deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commend Sofia Urcuyo for her service as a | ||
| legislative assistant in the office of State Representative R. D. | ||
| "Bobby" Guerra and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| success in all her endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Urcuyo as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
