| WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced | ||
| by a great and enduring love, James and Sandy Champ of Little River | ||
| celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 31, 2011; and | ||
| WHEREAS, James Champ and the former Sandy Weddell were united | ||
| in matrimony at First Methodist Church in Cameron in 1961; through | ||
| the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been | ||
| made even richer with the addition of two children, Carol Morris and | ||
| Arthur Champ, as well as four grandchildren and four | ||
| great-grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Champ retired from the U.S. Post Office in | ||
| Temple after 37 years of service; Mrs. Champ has been a dedicated | ||
| homemaker throughout their marriage; and | ||
| WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past | ||
| five decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant | ||
| in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love | ||
| has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with | ||
| grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate James and Sandy Champ on their | ||
| golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes | ||
| for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Champ as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
