| WHEREAS, Dakota Roe has been honored with a 2017 scholarship | ||
| from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Each year, the association recognizes young people | ||
| who have distinguished themselves through their participation in | ||
| the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, which takes place in | ||
| January; funded by proceeds raised at the event, the 2017 | ||
| scholarship awards were presented to 18 area high school seniors | ||
| based on a range of criteria, including academic achievement, | ||
| college readiness, and membership in FFA, 4-H, or Family, Career | ||
| and Community Leaders of America programs; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A member of the Calallen FFA Club, Dakota Roe is | ||
| graduating from Calallen High School and is looking forward to | ||
| pursuing a degree at Tarlton State University; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has brought great pride | ||
| to his family and community, and the exceptional talent, aptitude, | ||
| and drive that he has demonstrated are certain to serve him well in | ||
| all his future endeavors; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Dakota Roe on his receipt of a 2017 | ||
| scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show | ||
| Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| success and happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Roe as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
