R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ivan Alvarez has been honored with a 2017
scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show
Association; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the association recognizes young people
who have distinguished themselves through their participation in
the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show, which takes place in
January; funded by proceeds raised at the event, the 2017
scholarship awards were presented to 18 area high school seniors
based on a range of criteria, including academic achievement,
college readiness, and membership in FFA, 4-H, or Family, Career
and Community Leaders of America programs; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Calallen FFA Club, Ivan Alvarez is
graduating from Calallen High School and is looking forward to
pursuing a degree at Texas A&M University; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has brought great pride
to his family and community, and the exceptional talent, aptitude,
and drive that he has demonstrated are certain to serve him well in
all his future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Ivan Alvarez on his receipt of a
2017 scholarship from the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show
Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Alvarez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
