H.R. No. 13

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Developer and contractor Robert L. Bowling III is
being honored with a 2013 Pioneer Award from the El Paso Association
of Builders; and
WHEREAS, This year, the award is being presented to four
individuals who have helped to build or develop quality housing in
El Paso and have made a contribution to the housing industry; and
WHEREAS, Robert L. Bowling III is one of the owners of
Tropicana Homes, a family-owned business that has built more than
10,000 homes in El Paso since the company was founded by
R. L. Bowling, Jr., in 1950; and
WHEREAS, The company has been named Builder of the Year by the
El Paso Association of Builders on three occasions, and it was cited
as Texas Builder of the Year in 2003 and as Texas Developer of the
Year in 2009; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Mr. Bowling's family has made a
positive difference in the community through its long-term
sponsorship of the Bowling Family YMCA in northeast El Paso; and
WHEREAS, Robert Bowling and Tropicana Homes have been leaders
in the El Paso housing industry for many years, and he may indeed
take great pride in this recognition from his professional peers;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Robert
L. Bowling III of Tropicana Homes on receiving the Pioneer Award
from the El Paso Association of Builders and extend to him sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Bowling as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
