WHEREAS, Residents of Hidalgo County are gathering on June 6, | ||
2013, to pay tribute to area first responders as they commemorate | ||
the second annual Public Safety Day of Prayer; and | ||
WHEREAS, Each and every day, people depend on the skill and | ||
commitment of vital law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency | ||
medical services personnel, and the swift, sure, and courageous | ||
actions of those talented professionals make an immeasurable | ||
contribution to the safety and well-being of area residents; and | ||
WHEREAS, Hidalgo County has been fortunate to have a wealth | ||
of dedicated citizens who have distinguished themselves as first | ||
responders over the years; they have willingly risked their lives | ||
to meet the challenges of their professions, and they are being | ||
recognized today with great admiration for their tireless work to | ||
safeguard the lives and property of others; and | ||
WHEREAS, The first responders of Hidalgo County exemplify the | ||
highest ideals of service and commitment, and the Public Safety Day | ||
of Prayer provides a fitting reminder for citizens of all faiths to | ||
pray for the well-being of these dedicated men and women; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend first responders | ||
for their exceptional work on the occasion of the Public Safety Day | ||
of Prayer. |
