R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Mariachi Cascabel band of Rio Grande City High
  School won the Class 5A division of the 2015 Texas High School
  Mariachi Competition in San Antonio on February 7, 2015; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Mexican American School Board
  Association and the Texas Association of Mariachi Educators, this
  annual statewide competition brought together 35 high school
  mariachi ensembles from across Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of band director Alex
  Rodriguez, the mariachi musicians of Rio Grande City High School
  took top honors for the third year in a row, winning Class 5A for the
  first time after two consecutive Class 4A titles; and
         WHEREAS, The members of Mariachi Cascabel are a source of
  great pride to their school and community, and these talented young
  musicians may take well-deserved satisfaction in this outstanding
  achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Mariachi Cascabel of Rio Grande
  City High School for winning the Class 5A division of the 2015 Texas
  High School Mariachi Competition and extend to the band sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mariachi Cascabel as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
