R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Johnnie I. Krajca of Ennis passed away on July 15,
  2017, at the age of 84, bringing a great loss to his family, his
  friends, and the many fans of his long-running Czech music program;
  and
         WHEREAS, The son of John and Julia Krajca, Johnnie Krajca was
  born on November 7, 1932, and grew up in Creechville and Telico; he
  graduated from St. John High School, and from 1953 to 1955, he
  served his country in the Korean War; he went on to work for the
  Union Pacific Railroad, Larkin, and Flintkote, and he also
  delivered Jax beer in Ellis County, drove the St. John school bus,
  and found additional employment as a mail carrier for the U.S.
  Postal Service and as a sales representative for SPJST life
  insurance and RVOS homeowners' insurance; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Krajca married the former Margaret Ann Martinek
  on August 11, 1956, and they were blessed with four daughters, Rita,
  Marlene, Laure, and Allis; through the years, their family grew to
  include two additional generations; and
         WHEREAS, Proud of his Czech heritage, Mr. Krajca played polka
  music on radio station KBEC for more than 48 years and helped found
  the King and Queen Dance Contest at the annual National Polka
  Festival; he was a generous supporter and mentor to local
  musicians, and he was honored by the Texas Czech Heritage and
  Cultural Center for his contributions; in addition, he was a valued
  member of St. John Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the
  American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, SPJST Lodge No. 25,
  KJT Society No. 35, RVOS Lodge No. 51, SOKOL, and WFLA; and
         WHEREAS, Johnnie Krajca brought joy to innumerable people by
  sharing his love of Czech music, and those who were privileged to
  know him will forever remember his kindness, good humor, and great
  devotion to his family; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  Johnnie I. Krajca and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Margaret Krajca; to his daughters, Rita
  Holland and her husband, Keith, Marlene Clark, Laure Krajca and her
  husband, Greg Crow, and Allis Droste and her husband, Tom; to his
  grandchildren, Brian Holland, April Holland and Clint Wyatt, Jake
  Holland and Jessica, Miranda Henson and Grant, Raychel Walker and
  Austin,  Madeline and Erica Clark,  Jerrod Ryan and Sarah, Blake
  Ryan and Haley, and Brandon and Amanda Droste; to his
  great-grandchildren, Austen, Madison, and Maison Holland, Luke and
  June Holland, Garrett Wyatt, Beau, Winnie, and Clark Henson, and
  Kalynn Ryan; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Johnnie
  Krajca.
