WHEREAS, A radiant life drew to a close much too soon with the | ||
passing of Karen Rene Baker of College Station on September 13, | ||
2012, at the age of 54; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born on December 8, 1957, and raised in Corpus | ||
Christi, Karen Baker earned degrees in civil engineering and | ||
microbiology from Texas A&M University in College Station; shortly | ||
after her graduation in 1983, she embarked on a notable career with | ||
the Texas Department of Transportation, where, after a decade and a | ||
half, she was elevated to the post of area engineer for Montgomery | ||
County; she retired in 2010, having devoted more than 25 years to | ||
the agency and to addressing the transportation needs of local | ||
Texans; and | ||
WHEREAS, The devoted wife of Glenn Baker and the proud mother | ||
of Matthew and Justin, Karen Baker took immense joy in her family | ||
and in the time they spent together; and | ||
WHEREAS, This treasured woman brought to all her endeavors an | ||
inexhaustible determination and generosity of spirit, and those who | ||
were blessed to share in her love and affection will forever hold | ||
her close in their heart; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory | ||
of Karen Rene Baker and extend sincere sympathy to all those who | ||
mourn her passing; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Karen Rene | ||
Baker. | ||
