R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A radiant life drew to a close much too soon with the
  passing of Karen Rene Baker of College Station on September 13,
  2012, at the age of 54; and
         WHEREAS, Born on December 8, 1957, and raised in Corpus
  Christi, Karen Baker earned degrees in civil engineering and
  microbiology from Texas A&M University in College Station; shortly
  after her graduation in 1983, she embarked on a notable career with
  the Texas Department of Transportation, where, after a decade and a
  half, she was elevated to the post of area engineer for Montgomery
  County; she retired in 2010, having devoted more than 25 years to
  the agency and to addressing the transportation needs of local
  Texans; and
         WHEREAS, The devoted wife of Glenn Baker and the proud mother
  of Matthew and Justin, Karen Baker took immense joy in her family
  and in the time they spent together; and
         WHEREAS, This treasured woman brought to all her endeavors an
  inexhaustible determination and generosity of spirit, and those who
  were blessed to share in her love and affection will forever hold
  her close in their heart; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Karen Rene Baker and extend sincere sympathy to all those who
  mourn her passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Karen Rene
  Baker.
