R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Arthur Schaffer of Waco, who passed away on March 12,
  2011, at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Arthur Schaffer was
  born in Galveston on August 28, 1925, to Henry and Frances Schaffer;
  he answered his nation's call to duty during World War II and
  graduated from Baylor University; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Schaffer had a notable career with
  American-Amicable Life Insurance Company that spanned more than six
  decades; above all else, he was devoted to his family; he shared
  many happy years with his wife, Billie, before her passing, and he
  enjoyed the company of his children, Dawn and Steve, and his three
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Arthur Schaffer lived a rich and rewarding life, and
  he will long be remembered with great admiration by all those who
  were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Arthur Schaffer and
  extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  daughter, Dawn Murray, and her husband, Steve; to his son, Steve
  Schaffer; to his grandchildren, Carrie and Cameron Blain and Chloe
  Murray; to his sisters, Louise Green and her husband, Charles, and
  Mindy Gorrono; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Arthur
  Schaffer.
