WHEREAS, Ray Reese of Cuero is stepping down as DeWitt County | ||
attorney on June 28, 2019, drawing to a close 25 years of | ||
exceptional service in that position; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Reese first took office as county attorney in | ||
1994, and he was subsequently reelected six times; in the course of | ||
his tenure, he has been instrumental in fostering cooperation | ||
between public offices and emphasizing fairness in juvenile and | ||
misdemeanor criminal cases; and | ||
WHEREAS, Over the past quarter of a century, his office has | ||
overseen more than 13,000 adult and 11,000 juvenile hearings, as | ||
well as collected upwards of $3.4 million in fines and more than $2 | ||
million in bounced checks; and | ||
WHEREAS, In addition to his invaluable work as county | ||
attorney, Mr. Reese has further served his fellow residents through | ||
his private law practice, Dietze & Reese; and | ||
WHEREAS, Ray Reese's dedication, professionalism, and | ||
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited DeWitt County and | ||
earned him the respect and admiration of his peers, and he may | ||
indeed reflect with pride on his many achievements as he embarks on | ||
the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby honor Ray Reese for his service as DeWitt County | ||
attorney and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, | ||
be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Reese as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. |
