R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Those Texans who give freely of their time and
  talents to benefit the larger community make the world a better
  place through their actions and their example, and Sarah Singleton
  of Cypress is one such person; and
         WHEREAS, Since 2001, Sarah Singleton has volunteered
  countless hours with the Republican Party of Texas; she has been a
  member of the executive committee for Senate District No. 7 and a
  Harris County precinct chair, ballot board clerk, and election
  judge; moreover, she has played a key role in campaigns for a number
  of party leaders at the local and state levels, including
  Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and former governors George W. Bush
  and Rick Perry; she has also worked as a district director for
  members of the Texas Senate and House of Representatives, and from
  2011 to 2012, she was the Harris County Republican Party primary
  director; and
         WHEREAS, A longtime supporter of homeschooling initiatives,
  Ms. Singleton served on the West Houston Home Educators board of
  directors from 1998 to 2008 and as regional director of the Home
  School Communication Network from 2000 to 2010; in addition, she
  has mentored families through the support organization Smoothing
  the Way, and over the past 16 years, she has held numerous
  leadership roles with the Texas Home School Coalition; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Singleton's other efforts have included
  volunteering as an AWANA commander at TheMET Church, as a chapter
  sponsor for the Institute for Cultural Communicators, and as a
  member of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce and the Cy-Fair
  Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary; and
         WHEREAS, Sarah Singleton has devoted herself to making a
  meaningful difference in her local community and beyond, and she is
  indeed deserving of recognition for her many contributions; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Sarah Singleton on
  her outstanding record of civic engagement and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Singleton as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
