R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Danny Neill is retiring from the Euless
  Police Department on March 28, 2013, drawing to a close a notable
  career in law enforcement that has spanned more than three and a
  half decades; and
         WHEREAS, After joining the department as a patrol officer in
  1976, Mr. Neill earned his basic police officer license in 1977 and
  his intermediate, advanced, and instructor licenses in 1985; that
  same year, he was promoted to sergeant and became the supervisor of
  the Narcotics Unit; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Neill went on to serve in the Patrol
  Division and in Criminal Investigations, receiving his master
  police officer license in 1996; in 2001, he was promoted to
  lieutenant, and his subsequent duties include a stint in the
  Service Division and participation on a joint task force with the
  U.S. Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms
  and Explosives; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, Lieutenant Neill has enjoyed
  the respect and admiration of his fellow officers; he was named
  Officer of the Year in 1980 and Supervisor of the Year on two
  occasions, in 1988 and 1990; and
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Neill's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to protecting the safety and welfare of the public have
  greatly benefited the citizens of Euless, and he may indeed reflect
  with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting
  chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Danny Neill on his
  retirement from the Euless Police Department and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Lieutenant Neill as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
