| WHEREAS, Cooper Carter of Lindsay High School earned first | ||
| place in the social studies event at the 2018 University | ||
| Interscholastic League Academic 2A State Meet, held in Austin on | ||
| May 4 and 5; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A freshman at Lindsay High, Mr. Carter applied his | ||
| knowledge of governmental systems, world cultures, and historical | ||
| trends, movements, and eras to beat out students from across the | ||
| Lone Star State; and | ||
| WHEREAS, With his fine showing in the state's premier high | ||
| school academic competition, this bright young Texan has ably | ||
| represented his school and community, and the dedication he has | ||
| demonstrated is sure to serve him well in the years ahead; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Cooper Carter on his success at the | ||
| 2018 UIL 2A Academic State Meet and extend to him sincere best | ||
| wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Carter as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
