| WHEREAS, Daniela Romero of Gallardo Elementary School has | ||
| been named the 2022-2023 Bilingual/ESL Teacher of the Year by the | ||
| San Antonio Area Association for Bilingual Education; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The San Antonio Area Association for Bilingual | ||
| Education is dedicated to the effective implementation of | ||
| bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural education, and it annually | ||
| recognizes outstanding bilingual/ESL teachers with this | ||
| prestigious award; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Romero grew up in Mexico and moved to San | ||
| Antonio as a teenager; after earning a bachelor's degree in | ||
| interdisciplinary studies from The University of Texas at | ||
| San Antonio, she began her career at the Southside Independent | ||
| School District in 2014, and she currently serves the district as a | ||
| fifth-grade dual-language teacher at Gallardo Elementary; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Daniela Romero exemplifies the passion, | ||
| determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our | ||
| best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all | ||
| in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Daniela Romero on her selection as | ||
| the 2022-2023 Bilingual/ESL Teacher of the Year by the San Antonio | ||
| Area Association for Bilingual Education and extend to her sincere | ||
| best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Romero as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
