A JOINT RESOLUTION
  proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing certain judges to
  become a candidate for another office without automatically
  resigning from the office already held.
         BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 65(a), Article XVI, Texas Constitution,
  is amended to read as follows:
         (a)  This section applies to the following offices: District
  Clerks; County Clerks; County Judges; [Judges of   the County Courts
  at Law, County Criminal Courts, County Probate Courts and County
  Domestic Relations Courts]; County Treasurers; Criminal District
  Attorneys; County Surveyors; County Commissioners; Justices of the
  Peace; Sheriffs; Assessors and Collectors of Taxes; District
  Attorneys; County Attorneys; Public Weighers; and Constables.
         SECTION 2.  This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
  submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019.
  The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
  proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing certain
  judges to become a candidate for another office without
  automatically resigning from the office already held."
