proposing a constitutional amendment dedicating the net revenue | ||

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Article VIII, Texas Constitution, is amended by | ||
adding Section 32 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 32. Subject to legislative appropriation, allocation, | ||
and direction, the net revenue remaining after the payment of | ||
refunds allowed by law and expenses of collection derived from a tax | ||
on the sale or use of cannabis or marijuana may be used only for the | ||
support and maintenance of an efficient system of public free | ||
schools. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2019. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment dedicating the net | ||
revenue from any tax on the sale or use of cannabis or marijuana to | ||
public education." |
