WHEREAS, Members of the 2018-2019 Superintendent's Student | ||
Advisory Board for the Galena Park Independent School District are | ||
visiting the State Capitol on January 22, 2019, and this occasion | ||
offers a fitting opportunity to recognize the group for its | ||
invaluable contributions to the district; and | ||
WHEREAS, Designed to foster student engagement and | ||
leadership, the advisory board consists of 25 young Texans from | ||
high schools across Galena Park ISD; its members were chosen to | ||
represent the district's student population by the principals of | ||
their respective campuses; and | ||
WHEREAS, The group advises the superintendent on issues | ||
related to student performance, safety and security, and dropout | ||
prevention; in addition to providing feedback, the board's members | ||
perform community service, create an education portfolio, and | ||
complete an annual book study; and | ||
WHEREAS, The members of the Superintendent's Student | ||
Advisory Board have demonstrated hard work, initiative, and an | ||
admirable commitment to making Galena Park ISD the best it can be, | ||
and they are setting an outstanding example for their peers; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas | ||
hereby recognize the members of the 2018-2019 Galena Park ISD | ||
Superintendent's Student Advisory Board on the occasion of their | ||
visit to the State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes | ||
for success in all their future endeavors; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for the board as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives and Senate. |
