A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to consent to the immunization of certain children for
  cancer prevention or treatment.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 32.1011, Family Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
         (a-1)  Notwithstanding Subsection (a) or Section 32.003 or
  32.101, a child may consent to the child's own immunization for
  cancer prevention or treatment if the immunization is:
               (1)  recommended for cancer prevention by the Centers
  for Disease Control and Prevention; or
               (2)  approved for cancer treatment by the United States
  Food and Drug Administration.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
