| relating to the status of certain training programs for peace | ||
| officers, reserve law enforcement officers, county jailers, and | ||
| recruits. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 1701.254, Occupations Code, is amended | ||
| by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | ||
| (e) The commission may not adopt rules under Subsection (d) | ||
| that place a training provider on at-risk probationary status based | ||
| solely on the scores of the provider's students on licensing | ||
| examinations if at least 80 percent of the provider's students | ||
| pass, by the student's third attempt, the examination required for | ||
| the type of license sought. | ||
| SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2012, the Commission on | ||
| Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education shall adopt rules | ||
| necessary to implement the change in law made by this Act. | ||
| SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
