| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 124.002, Government Code, is amended by | ||
| adding subsection (e) to read as follows: | ||
| (e) The attorney representing the state may not require a | ||
| defendant to waive the possibility of the full expunction of the | ||
| defendant’s record as a condition of the attorney’s consent for the | ||
| defendant to participate in the veterans treatment court program. | ||
| SECTION 2. This act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
