| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 51.882, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| amending Subsection (d) and adding Subsection (f) to read as | ||
| follows: | ||
| (d) Each institution of higher education that adopts a | ||
| policy under Subsection (a): | ||
| (1) must require that the institution's campuses have | ||
| personnel or volunteers authorized and trained to administer an | ||
| epinephrine auto-injector present; and | ||
| (2) shall include the policy in the institution's | ||
| student handbook or similar publication and publish the policy on | ||
| the institution's Internet website. | ||
| (f) An institution of higher education that adopts a policy | ||
| under Subsection (a) shall submit to the Department of State Health | ||
| Services a copy of the policy and any amendment to the policy | ||
| adopted by the institution. The department shall maintain a record | ||
| of the most recent policy and amendments submitted by each | ||
| institution under this subsection and shall make that information | ||
| available to the public on request. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
