A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the duty of a residential landlord to send notification
  of an interruption in water service.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 92.008, Property Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
         (a-1)  If for any reason water service furnished to a tenant
  is interrupted, the landlord must promptly notify the utility
  company that is responsible for providing water service of the
  interruption in service, including a utility company operated by a
  political subdivision.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
