| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 503, Occupations Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 503.3021 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 503.3021. ELIGIBILITY TO ACT AS SUPERVISOR IN CERTAIN | ||
| COUNTIES. (a) This section applies only to a county with a | ||
| population of less than 100,000 that is not adjacent to a county | ||
| with a population of more than 100,000. | ||
| (b) The executive council shall allow a person licensed as a | ||
| marriage and family therapist under Chapter 502 to act as a | ||
| supervisor under this chapter in a county to which this section | ||
| applies for purposes of supervising an applicant for any experience | ||
| hours required by rules adopted under Section 503.302(a)(4), | ||
| including any direct client counseling hours. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
