| relating to the application of the open meetings law to the medical | ||
| advisory board. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 12, Health and Safety | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 12.099 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 12.099. OPEN MEETINGS. (a) All meetings of the | ||
| medical advisory board or a panel shall be conducted in accordance | ||
| with the open meetings law, Chapter 551, Government Code. | ||
| (b) This section and Chapter 551, Government Code, do not | ||
| require the medical advisory board or a panel to conduct an open | ||
| meeting to deliberate a record, a report, or testimony described by | ||
| Section 12.097(a). | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
