A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the application of the open meetings law to the medical
advisory board.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 12, Health and Safety
Code, is amended by adding Section 12.099 to read as follows:
Sec. 12.099. OPEN MEETINGS. (a) All meetings of the
medical advisory board or a panel shall be conducted in accordance
with the open meetings law, Chapter 551, Government Code.
(b) This section and Chapter 551, Government Code, do not
require the medical advisory board or a panel to conduct an open
meeting to deliberate a record, a report, or testimony described by
Section 12.097(a).
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
