| by school districts and open-enrollment charter schools. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 7.060, Education Code, is amended by | ||
| adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: | ||
| (c) In addition to the requirements otherwise prescribed by | ||
| this section, the commissioner shall adopt policies that result in | ||
| a reduction of at least 25 percent each, for school districts and | ||
| open-enrollment charter schools, in the total amount of written | ||
| reports required by the agency to be prepared, as determined in | ||
| comparison to the total amount of written reports required to be | ||
| prepared by each of those entities during the 2010-2011 school | ||
| year. The policies must be implemented as soon as practicable, but | ||
| not later than the 2012-2013 school year. This subsection expires | ||
| September 1, 2013. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
