A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to notification to the attorney general regarding
  allegations of criminal conduct in connection with an election.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 273.001, Election Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
         (f)  If a county or district attorney does not initiate
  prosecution in response to an affidavit received under Subsection
  (a) or as described by Subsection (c) on or before the 60th day
  after the date the county or district attorney receives the
  affidavit, the county or district attorney shall notify the
  attorney general in writing of the allegations.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2011.
