relating to notification to the attorney general regarding | ||
allegations of criminal conduct in connection with an election. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 273.001, Election Code, is amended by | ||
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(f) If a county or district attorney does not initiate | ||
prosecution in response to an affidavit received under Subsection | ||
(a) or as described by Subsection (c) on or before the 60th day | ||
after the date the county or district attorney receives the | ||
affidavit, the county or district attorney shall notify the | ||
attorney general in writing of the allegations. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
