A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to voting eligibility requirements for members of a
  metropolitan planning organization policy board.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter D, Chapter 472, Transportation Code,
  is amended by adding Section 472.036 to read as follows:
         Sec. 472.036.  POLICY BOARD MEMBER VOTING ELIGIBILITY IN
  CERTAIN COUNTIES. To be eligible to be a voting member of a
  metropolitan planning organization policy board that serves a
  county with a population of more than 1.7 million and in which more
  than 75 percent of the population resides in a single municipality,
  a member must be an elected official or a member of the board of a
  metropolitan rapid transit authority under Chapter 451.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
