| paid to the county clerk. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 130, Local Government | ||
| Code, is amended by adding Section 130.911 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 130.911. COUNTY REFUND OF SMALL AMOUNT. A county is | ||
| not required to refund an amount overpaid or otherwise paid in error | ||
| to the county clerk by a person if: | ||
| (1) that amount is $5 or less; | ||
| (2) the county clerk notifies the person by mail of the | ||
| amount overpaid or paid in error and includes with the notice a form | ||
| for requesting a refund; and | ||
| (3) the person fails to request a refund before the | ||
| 90th day after the date the clerk mailed the notice. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. | ||
