relating to mandatory supervision for certain drug possession | ||
offenses. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 508.1491 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 508.1491. MANDATORY SUPERVISION FOR CERTAIN DRUG | ||
POSSESSION OFFENSES. Sections 508.149(b), (c), and (d) do not | ||
apply to an inmate serving a sentence for a third degree felony | ||
offense under Section 481.115, 481.1151, 481.116, 481.117, | ||
481.118, or 481.121, Health and Safety Code. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
