| offenses. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 508.1491 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 508.1491. MANDATORY SUPERVISION FOR CERTAIN DRUG | ||
| POSSESSION OFFENSES. Sections 508.149(b), (c), and (d) do not | ||
| apply to an inmate serving a sentence for a third degree felony | ||
| offense under Section 481.115, 481.1151, 481.116, 481.117, | ||
| 481.118, or 481.121, Health and Safety Code. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
| a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
| provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
| Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
| Act takes effect September 1, 2011. | ||
